3 MAIN STRATEGIC DIRECTIONS OF THE ORGANIZATION

3 main strategic directions serve to achieve the mission of the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia, which in turn unites various thematic directions. The organization, in order to share the experience accumulated over the years, actively works within the framework of the mentioned strategic directions both at the local and regional levels.

I strategic direction - development of civil society

 

The development of civil society is one of the first strategic directions of the organization, whose task, at the local and national level, is to promote the protection of the interests of its target groups and the improvement of the provision of relevant services to them.

Under the development of civil sector are - Community Development, CSO Development, Social Service Development directions. 

 

Forms of activity

Informational and technical support of public organizations/initiative groups; participation in the establishment of an environment conducive to their functioning; Financial and expert support of their thematic projects or activities focused on organizational development, through various grant programs; conducting thematic research on the challenges and needs of public organizations; Informing public organizations/initiative groups and establishing contacts between them, promoting networking activities; introduction/promotion of new mechanisms and practices for mobilizing local resources (community fund, auction of ideas, etc.); Creating educational and financial opportunities for groups operating at the community level in rural areas; Providing intensive support, especially for newly created groups, in the process of project implementation and connecting them with organizations with different expertise.

 

II strategic direction - promotion of economic and social changes

The task of promoting economic and social changes in the country is to increase the social responsibility of the civil sector, business and citizens. The organization has been working in the mentioned direction since 1998.

 

Under the promotion of economic and social changes are - Consumer Rights Protection, Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Entrepreneurship development directions. 

 

Forms of activity

Active work with business companies in order to provide them with information and knowledge, raise awareness and stimulate responsible business activity; Working with various sectors to create an environment conducive to corporate social responsibility; development of state policy aimed at the development of CSR; promoting the establishment of sustainable development reporting (CSR reporting) in Georgia; establishment of pro bono concept and practices; Consulting services for companies on CSR issues; technical and financial support of start-up and existing social enterprises; development of various educational resources for the promotion of social entrepreneurship; Promotion of the concept of social entrepreneurship among young people; raising consumer awareness; monitoring of the activities of state structures and the consumer market; Observing the ongoing legislative reforms in the field of consumer rights protection and lobbying for legislative changes; development of recommendations to improve the activity of state structures and legislation; Legal consultations for consumers.

 

III strategic direction - promotion of good governance

By promoting good governance, the organization promotes cooperation between the government and the civil sector. A strong local self-government determines the democratic development of the country and the well-being of society, therefore special attention is paid to the development of local self-government.

 

Under the promotion of good governance are - Good Governance and European Integration directions.

 

Forms of activity

Conducting expert studies of a practical nature in the direction of strengthening local self-government; Production of expert evaluations and preparation of diagnostic reports on the implementation of this or that aspect of the Association Agreement of Georgia with the European Union; preparation of recommendations for solving the problems of central and local institutions; advocacy of local self-government and decentralization reforms, as well as participation in regional development policy development; monitoring, recommendations, consultations in terms of accountability and transparency of local self-government activities; Strengthening of public organizations in the European integration of the country. In particular, for involvement in facilitating the implementation of the association agreement; Strengthening the skills and capabilities of regional non-governmental organizations in monitoring and advocating the implementation of the association agreement through grant competitions; Creation of the educational website www.asocireba.ge in order to promote the European integration of Georgia; Promotion of public awareness in the form of studies and publications on the implementation of various areas of the European Association Agreement with informative video lessons, fun quizzes.
